Julia Vorobyeva

Head Teacher (ballet all levels, pointe, variations, privates)

won the hearts of all who experienced her delicate, refined performances. Treating audiences to many masterful and memorable roles, Mrs. Julia danced the starring role in many ballets including Giselle, Nutcracker, Swan Lake, Macbeth, Spartacus, Romeo and Juliet, Sleeping Beauty and Allegro Brillante, Concerto Barocco, Sylvia Pas De Deux, Who Cares, Raymonda of Balanchine and other beautiful pieces of acclaimed masters. She scored tremendous critical success and the New York Times ballet critic Anna Kisselgoff praised her work in the title role of the ballet Esmeralda with NJBallet Co.
Mrs. Julia’s career began in Moscow at the world famous Bolshoi Ballet Academy (Degree of Ballet Artist) and the Bolshoi Institute of Choreography (Bachelor degree of Ballet teacher). She toured throughout the world as a principal artist with the Moscow Classical Ballet and Russian State Ballet. She performed at the world famous Bolshoi Theater, Vienna State Opera and other big stages of the world.  From 1998 she was with NJBallet Co. as a principal dancer.
As a teacher Ms. Julia has been praised for her extraordinary ability to work with today’s young generation of dancers. Her thorough knowledge of the most current teaching methods and styles has produced many dancers who have been accepted into some of the most prestigious dance programs and companies.
In 2010 she founded Duet School of Russian Ballet and now leads the school as a director and teacher. She created and lead the Intensive Summer Ballet Camp for serious kids who would like to learn more in ballet and be prepare for upcoming season.

Konstantin Durnev

in memory*

began his career in Novosibirsk, Russia at the Novosibirsk Ballet Academy (Degree of Ballet Artist) and the Russian Academy of Theatrical Art in Moscow -GITIS (Bachelor degree of Ballet Teacher and Choreographer). As a principal dancer he toured throughout the world with the Novosibirsk Theater of Opera and Ballet, with Moscow Classical Ballet and with Russian State Ballet. He also performed on the world famous stages as of the Bolshoi Theater of Opera and Ballet, of the Mariinsy Theatre, of Vienna State Opera.

In the USA he was a principal ballet dancer of NJ Ballet Co. over 10 years. He captured the attention of critics and audiences with his technique and dramatic dances in Giselle and Swan Lake, Don Quixote, Coppelia, Esmeralda, Romeo and Juliet, Nutcracker, Sleeping Beauty, Spartacus, Macbeth and many others. His repertory includes numerous works of famous world choreographers such as Marius Petipa, George Balanchine, Yury Grigorovich, Vladimir Vasilev and other acclaimed masters.

Mr. Konstantin won silver and bronze medals in international ballet competitions and was a guest star with the Russian Imperial Ballet under the direction of Maya Plisetskaya. From 1998 he started to work with NJBallet Co. as their principal dancer and later he choreographed the one act ballets of Macbeth and Spartacus, was an assistant choreographer for three act ballet Esmeralda and did contemporary pieces Never Ending Story, Creation and others.

He was invited to many ballet schools and companies all over the USA and Russia as ballet teacher and choreographer. Ballets Coppelia, Nutctracker, Swan Lake and many contemporary and classical pieces Mr. Konstantin choreographed especially for each company and school. His professionalism, good personality and energetic energy inspires every student to increase their skills.

Unfortunately Mr. Konstantin passed away in October of 2022 due to health concerns. We invoke his memory with all of our movements and loving energy.

Albert Davydov

Teacher (Ballet, Pointe, Variation, Partnering, Private)

Albert Davydov, was born in Russia and trained at the Kazan Choreographic School of Ballet. Upon graduation, he joined the Tatar State Theater of Opera and Ballet where he danced solo and principal roles and toured with the company throughout Europe and the United States.

Albert has won numerous prizes in international ballet competitions. Albert’s professional career in the United States includes principle positions with New Jersey Ballet from 2004 through 2017. His repertoire includes the Nutcracker, Coppelia, Don Quixote, Cinderella, Corsare, Paquita, Sleeping Beauty, Romeo and Juliet, amongst others.

Prior to becoming the Artistic Director of American Youth Ballet he has taught at the Sharon Miller Academy, New Jersey Ballet School and continues to teach master classes at the Simply Dance School.

Andrey Durnev

Along with working on our social media, website and public speaking at our events, Andrey is also our breakdance teacher! Andrey or Bboy Volk has been dancing and competing for 10 years but now is teaching and helping establish the “Duet” brand.
